Today's mani is comprised of two new colors I received today in my February Julep Maven box.  Laura an army green with a smokey grey undertone and Ginger a beautiful holographic, sandy neutral color.  I am in love with Ginger...when first saw it I was thinking I was disappointed, because it did not look holographic at all.  But when I applied the first coat, I was amazed at how prismatic it actually turned out.  The first photo below shows exactly that.  Trust me, it looks much better in person; its always difficult to photograph holo polish.

I decided to put a spin on the traditional accent nail and alternate each color on my nails.  And to make it even more interesting, I polished the right had opposite the left.  See photos below.

Since I really love the base colors I chose, I decided to stamp delicate designs that would allow the base colors to be more visible.  Here are the specifics:

Base coat: Julep's Oxygen Nail Treatment (new & review coming soon)
Base colors: Laura (green) & Ginger
Stamping: I used Laura and Ginger; Ginger over Laura and vice versa
IP: Dashica Beauty Shop: Bid SdP B & L (floral pattern)
Top coats: Seche Ultra-V (left hand) & Julep's Freedom top coat (right hand) (comparison post coming soon)

The formula for Laura was pretty thick, so you have to be very careful  to use one very even coat or two very thin coats.  Either way, the color turns out great.  It stamps ok, but loses much of its opacity, and looks more brown than green.

The formula for Ginger is PERFECT!!!!!  I repeat, PERFECT.  It applies smoothly and evenly and is perfectly opaque in one coat, but since I was applying two coats of the green, I applied 2 coats of this one. To make it even better, it stamps perfectly too; it doesn't lose any of its opacity.
