For today's mani, I wanted to try the only polish I own from China Glaze's Cirque Du Soleil collection. I recently picked this up from Sally Beauty Supply...sadly I paid full price for it ($5.49 with a Sally card). The color is Hanging in the Balance, and it's a bright tropical blue shade.

Since I almost always do an accent nail (just the ring finger this time), I decided to pair Hanging in the Balance with a silver polish by Julep.

Here's the specifics:

Base coat:      Seche Retain
Base colors:      Hanging in the Balance by China Glaze
                         Harley by Julep
Stamp color:     Worth the Risque (holographic) by Color Club
Image Plate:     Dashica Beauty Shop, Big SdP R
Top coat:        Seche Vite (very fast drying)

Hanging in the Balance in a really beautiful bright tropical blue. I applied two coats for this mani, but if I had been more careful with the application I could have gotten away with one coat. My application was a little uneven, so there were some sheerer spots. I noticed that on the first coat, the thinner areas showed a little bit greenish, but the second coat evened it all out and it came out completely opaque.

Harley is a really nice silver, but as you can tell in the photo (without the design), you can see the brush strokes. I was not too happy about it, but thats common with many metallic polishes. It was completely opaque in one coat but, I applied a second hoping to get rid of the brush strokes. That did not happen, but the once I stamped the design, the brush strokes aren't visible.

Worth the Risque is one of my ALL TIME favorite holographic polishes and I just love stamping with this polish. It makes every mani gorgeous, by adding an extra colorful rainbow of colors (see the third photo). At some angles it may just look silver, but at other angles you can see the beautiful rainbow of holographic goodness.

And if you can't tell, I am absolutely obsessed with holographic polish. And sadly, I did not get into polish heavily until after the China Glaze OMG collection had already been discontinued. I just refuse to pay the $30 and up per bottle that many people are charging on eBay. If you know where to get any of the OMG collection at a reasonable price, please let me know by posting a comment below.
