I haven't used grey as my base color in quite a while so I decided to use grey and yellow for today's mani.  The grey I used is by China Glaze and is titled Immortal, from the Hunger Games collection.  The yellow I used is by Orly titled Melodious Utopia; it was in a new display with some additional spring shades, but I didn't see a name for the collection.  Also, I have done this mani slightly different than usual; while still using 2 colors instead of alternating them I did my rendition of color blocking.  The pinky and ring fingers polished in one color and then my thumb, index, and middle finger polished with the other color.  On the other hand I did the opposite.

Here's what I used:

Base coat: Seche Retain
Base color 1:  Immortal by China Glaze (grey)
Base color 2: Melodious Utopia By Orly (yellow)
Top coat 1: Seche Vite - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up I can remove the design without removing the base color
Stamp colors: Beyond & Yellow by Konad
Top coat 2: Seche Ultra-V cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 5 minutes

Unfortunately, both polishes have streaky and patchy formulas, which means 2 coats is a MUST for both!!  For best results, apply the first coat of each very thin, it will allow you to correct the first coat with the second coat.

Melodious Utopia is very fluid so you have to make sure to scrape the majority of the polish off the brush.  For some reason it collects a lot of polish at the top of the wand and during application it runs down the brush, causing too much polish on the brush and nail.  Also, be careful not to go over the same spot more than once while still wet, it will practically wipe the polish right off.  So when applying the second coat, make sure the first coat is completely dry!!  But even after two coat it is still somewhat sheer, so for maximum opacity you may want to try 3 coats.  But I must say, it is a lovely shade of yellow although the red shimmer that you can see in the bottle is not visible on the nail unless you are in the absolute perfect lighting.  I really hate it when that happens, because the red shimmer is what drew me to this color.

Immortal, while patchy and streaky, I actually really love...partially because I just love grey.  This polish also contains some silver and blue shimmer that is actually visible on the nail.  Now it not in your face visible, but visible.  Immortal doesn't have any of the other issues that Melodious Utopia had...the second coat completely corrected the first coat.  It's completely opaque in 2 coats and has a glossy finish without the top coat.  Very pleased in the end.

On the ring finger you can barely see the red shimmer
