I have recently recorded and uploaded a video on my YouTube channel (username: Loraincd) showing the products I use for my manicure.  I use a variety of different products, some I use all the time and some only occasionally.  The products I use and how often depend upon the condition of my nails; so in the winter I do a more intense manicure than during the warmer months.  I was going to do a post about the products that I use, but realized it would be much easier to record a video and just show you...as I use a lot.

Here are my manicure steps:

  1. trim/cut, file & shape (doing this step with wet nails can cause splitting)
  2. soak for 5 mins in cleansing nail whitener (I do not do this step every time)
  3. soak for 5 mins in antimicrobial cleanser
  4. soak each hand for 5 mins in heated lotion (I use a lotion warmer, but you could also warm oil in it)
  5. apply cuticle remover and then remove any dead skin and push back cuticles
  6. apply cuticle oil to cuticle and entire nail bed and allow to soak in for at least 2 hour before applying polish
  7. use any remaining warmed lotion
To maintain soft skin in between manicures, I use hand scrub about once per week.
