Today's mani is fairly subtle and simple; I only used 2 colors for the entire design. Metallic Light Blue by Nabi, a brand I have only found in Atlanta, GA and under $3.49. The second color, I recently got in my April Julep box, called Janel. My ring and pinky fingers are the accent nails for this mani; and on the right hand they are painted with Janel and on the left they are painted with Metallic Light Blue. And for the stamping I used both of these base colors, because they are metallic I wanted to find out how well they stamp. Most metallic polishes are great for stamping.
Here's what I used:
- Base coat: Seche Recondition
- Base color 1: Metallic Light Blue by Nabi
- Base Color 2: Janel by Julep
- Top coat 1: Seche Vite - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up Ican remove the design without removing the base color
- Stamp colors: Metallic Light Blue and Janel
- Top coat 2: IBD UV Top Coat cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 2 minutes
- IP: Dashica Beauty Shop Big SdP M
Metallic Light Blue by Nabi is a very beautiful, light teal/aqua blue. It is a metallic polish, the formula is slightly thick, and you can slightly see the brush strokes but it applies great...not messy at all; very little clean up. This is the first polish I have worn by this brand and I really like it. It is not completely opaque in 1 coat as many other metallic polishes are, but you could get away with just the 1 coat. 2 coats really make the color pop.
Janel by Julep is a total stunner!!! I am completely surprised by how much I love this color because I am not really partial to pink nor red. But this one is gorgeous and I'm glad I have it. It has a subtle pink shimmer that actually does show up on the nail. The formula is very fluid, so you have to wipe a good amount off the brush, otherwise it will get messy. This polish is nicely opaque in 1 one coat, so that's all I applied for this mani.
