Today's mani I wanted to try something a little bit different...I did some layering of the stamped design. It did not turn out exactly as I planned but I wanted to show how the possibilities for stamping are endless.  I didn't do my normal alternating mani; the accent nails are my ring and pinky nails on both hands.  I just alternated the placement of the colors I used on each hand.  For some reason whenever I decide to use purple polish I always pair it with pink...but it looks really good together.  The purple color, Royal Cloak is a new shade by Revlon and the shimmery pink is Kissing Lips by NanaCoco.

Here's what I used:

  • Base coat: Seche Recondition
  • Base color 1: Kissing Lips by NanaCoco
  • Base color 2: Royal Cloak by Revlon
  • Top coat 1: Seche Vite Top Coat - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up I can remove the design without removing the base color
  • Stamp colors: Pastel Purple & Pastel Pink both by Konad
  • Top coat 2: IBD UV Top Coat cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 3 minutes
  • IP: Dashica Beauty Shop - XL SdP 17, 6 & 9

Royal Cloak by Revlon is a nice deep shade of purple with some subtle flaky-type silver glitter.  The glitter is not very visible on the nail, except if you're looking at it up close.  The formula for this polish is very thin and fluid, so you have to be careful at the cuticle and sides of the nail...it can get messy.  The brush is very small and combined with a thin formula makes the application patchy.  This is definitely a 2 coat polish and you have to make sure the 1st coat is dry before you apply the 2nd because it wipes right off.

Kissing Lips by NanaCoco is another stunner!! Even though it is pink...not a big fan of the color pink.  I am in love with this brand!!  This is another flawless application, no streaks, no patches...nothing but a smooth application.  The wider, fuller brush is excellent and makes a perfect line at the cuticle.  The formula is thick, but a great thick and is almost opaque in just the 1 coat.  But I did apply 2 coats for this mani.  I have got to get more of the NanaCoco polish.
