I have been really feeling orange lately and decided to do another mani with orange.  This mani is orange and white, and I have returned to my alternating mani.  Although, after applying the orange, I wish I had just used the orange polish...totally loving it.  The orange is called Techno Orange by NanaCoco, a brand that I have used before (not this formula, just the metallic), but have only found in Lithonia, GA.  The white is by China Glaze, called White on White.

I slightly messed up this design, because I really like the orange, I wanted as much of the color to show through the design.  You can see in the pics with the finished design, that my mani isn't exactly the same on both hands.  Can you find what is different?  The first person to comment below (and you must follow my blog by expanding the 4th item in the widget on the right and joining my site via Google Friend Connect or Google+) and identify the difference will win a prize!!  The prize will be nail polish of course.

Here's what I used:
  • Base coat: Seche Recondition
  • Base color 1: Techno Orange by NanaCoco
  • Base color 2: White on White by China Glaze
  • Top coat 1: Seche Vite Top Coat - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up I can remove the design without removing the base color
  • Stamp colors: White & Orange Pearl both by Konad
  • Top coat 2: IBD UV Top Coat cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 3 minutes
  • IP: Dashica Beauty Shop - Big SdP O
1 coat, no top coat
1 coat, no top coat

2 coats, with top coat
2 coats, with top coat

White on White by China Glaze is just your basic white polish, and like all white polishes I have tried it is streaky and definitely requires 2 coats.  The formula is thin and runny, so you have to be careful to remove the majority of the polish from the brush, otherwise you will have serious overflow at the cuticle (which is a pain to clean up thoroughly).  It's amazing that polish companies can create holographic and textured polished, but not a white that applies great...just a thought.

OMG!!!!  Techno Orange by NanaCoco was a complete surprise; because it's a jelly formula I was expecting to have to apply at least 3-4 coats.  Boy was I wrong!  1 coat was almost opaque...but compared to other jelly polishes it was completely opaque.  I used 2 coats and loved applying each one.  The formula is fantastic; absolutely no issues at all.  As with jelly polishes, the formula is thick, but the good thick.  The thickness made it easy to apply and manipulate so there was virtually no clean up.  Also like most jelly formulas it dries to a satin-like matte finish, but once you apply your top coat, it has a candy-like glossy shine.  I cannot wait to try the other NanaCoco polishes that I have and at the low price of about $3.49 (could have been cheaper, but I don't remember) this is a must have.

Have you tried any polishes by NanaCoco? If so, what do you think? And, have you found any really great white polishes?
