Today's mani is very simple, with just the ring fingers as my accent nail.  It has been quite a while since I've done this type of mani.  I decided to just do 1 accent nail because of the Neon Yellow polish by NanaCoco...I knew it would need at least 3 coats.  Since this mani was simple, I wanted to try a design I wouldn't normally choose...so I applies some smiley face emoticons over the yellow polish with a black holo polish.  Over the Summer Picnic I used a silver holo polish and applied the smileys on my index fingers and over the rest of my nails I stamped an aztec looking design...it kind of looks like it has a bulls nose and eyes.

Here's what I used:

  • Base coat: Seche Recondition
  • Base color : Summer Picnic by NanaCoco
  • Accent color: Neon Yellow by NanaCoco
  • Top coat 1: Seche Vite Top Coat - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up I can remove the design without removing the base color
  • Stamp colors: Revvolution & Harp On It both by Color Club
  • Top coat 2: IBD UV Top Coat cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 3 minutes
  • IP: Dashica Beauty Shop - Big SdP U

Neon Yellow is a very bright jelly polish.  As with most jellies, the formula is very thick for very easy to work with.  Unfortunately this polish is patchy and requires 3-4 coats, I used 4 on my left hand.  On my right hand I applied 1 coat of white polish first, then applied only 2 coats of Neon Yellow.  I actually like it better without the white polish because it no longer looks like a jelly polish.

Summer Picnic is very pretty, vibrant teal with silver shimmer...love this color.  The formula is really nice, not too thick, but not thin either.  You have to be careful how much pressure you apply to the brush s you reach the tip of your nail because it can be pretty sheer if you apply too much pressure...which is what I did initially.  After getting my technique together it applied pretty opaque in 1 coat, but because a few of the nails had some sheer spots, I ended up applying 2 coats over all the nails.  Overall I am pleased with both color.  You really should check out NanaCoco if you can find it.
