For this mani I wanted to try 2 brands that I have not used before.  I have polishes by many brands and before I continue buying brands I want to try them to make sure I like the brand.  The brands I used for this mani are Matte-n-a (a matte polish) & Nabi; both brands were purchased in Atlanta.  I have only found a few Nabi polishes here in Cincinnti, OH.

Here's what I used:

  • Base coat: Seche Recondition
  • Base color: Metallic Coral by Nabi
  • Accent Nail: Cannes by Matte-n-a
  • Top coat 1: Seche Vite Top Coat - I apply this before stamping, if I mess up I can remove the design without removing the base color
  • Stamp colors: Metallic Coral, Cannes & Vivid Pink by Konad
  • Top coat 2: Seche UV Top Coat cured under a 54 watt UV lamp for 5 minutes
  • IP: Dashica Beauty Shop - Big SdP X

Metallic Coral by Nabi is a beautiful metallic reddish-coral color with a great formula.  I had high hopes for this polish because it's a metallic and I must say it did not disappoint.  The application was FLAWLESS!!!  If you haven't used any metallics, most of them are opaque in 1 coat, not all but most.  This polish is opaque in 1 coat, which I love...who wants to apply 2 or more coats if you don't have to? Another thing I love about this polish is the brush; its has a wide brush that fans out perfectly for me since I have wide nail beds.  But if you have small nail beds you may not enjoy  the wider brush because it will get messy.  Also, you can stamp with this polish!  I highly recommend this, plus its under $4.

Cannes by Matte-n-a is another gorgeous metallic pink polish, but it has a stunning matte finish.  I did apply a top coat over my thumb nail, just to see how it would look and I must say, still gorgeous.  It is opaque in 1 coat and also has a wider brush.  Again, if you have small nail beds you may not enjoy the wider brush because it will get messy.  The only thing is you can't stamp with it because it dries to quickly...the image will not transfer onto your nail completely, at least not with a design that has fine lines. I highly recommend this as well, plus its under $4.

I started off stamping my left hand with Cannes, but by the time I got to my right hand it just would not transfer the design completely, so I switched to Konad's Vivid Pink; which is a perfect match to Cannes.  Also, you will notice in the pics of my left hand, with Cannes stamped, that the design is barely visible.  Once I applied the top coat, it seemed to eat away the stamped polish.
