I am extremely pleased with how this chalkboard mani turned out!!! I already had this mani on my to-do list, but I decided to apply this mani for 2 reasons. The main reason being that I broke my pinky nail down to a nub and had to cut all my nails super short. And the mani I planned to do needs longer nails...at least I thought so. And the 2nd reason is that I was at Ulta last weekend and I saw that Revlon now has several chalkboard polish duos. Basically a black polish on 1 end and a pastel polish on the other. So, I decided to do it with polish I already have.
The chalkboard mani is very simple...you just need to paint your nails black, stamp or add a design and finally add a matte top coat. But of course I had to make it more complicated. I have purchased a great deal of polish over the past several months and wanted to compare some of the black polishes. I ended up using 3 different black polishes, but all by the same brand...NANACOCO. I mainly wanted to see if there was any difference; the 2 cream finishes were exactly the same but the 3rd has silver shimmer in it. And, I didn't use my Dashica plates!!! I used one of the Cheeky plates from the latest collection they released this year. Now that I have short nails, I can use any of my plates!!
