This design is fairly simple, but looks effortlessly amazing. I went simple with this design to show how you can easily punch up a simple mani.
In this mani there are two effects going on; the first being the textured polish…I could've totally stopped here and had a very interesting mani. But that just wouldn't be me! The second effect is adding the Mylar film from +BornPretty Store Nail Art to a few nails, which goes along with the "sea glass" look of the +Zoya Nail Polish I chose to use in this mani.
Here's what I used:
- Base coat: Duri Rejuvicote and +Julep Maven Oxygen Smoothing base coat
- Base color 1: Ness by Zoya (cream)
- Accent nail color: Cece by Zoya (pixiedust textured polish)
- Top Coat 1: Duri Miracote
- Mylar film
- Scissors to cut the mylar film
- Top coat 2: I applied 2 coats of the Duri Miracote, but suggest a thicker top coat
Here's how to achieve this look:
- Prep your nails with alcohol or the Zoya Remove+ to remove any oils
- Cut the mylar film into the shapes and sizes that you want. Make sure you have good scissors and do this before painting nails, to avoid any dents!
- Apply base coat(s)
- Apply base and accent colors (play around with the placement of your accent color to mix it up even more)
- You don't have to apply top coat, but I like to whenever I am doing nail art
- Allow nails to dry completely
- Place mylar film on nails, and smooth over to remove any bubbles or ripples
- No need to apply over wet top coat...the film adheres really well to the surface. And not using wet top coat allows you to easily re-position the film without messing up the polish.
- Finally add top coat (I recommend a thicker top coat for a smooth surface)
Here's the finished look!
